CTMH Convention Mini-Album

I finally scrapped the Close to My Heart convention pics from last July/August. I used a DCWV 8x8 mini album, but everything else is CTMH. Silhouette Level 2 paper pack, Friendship large and small alphas, Extreme Caps alpha, and Circle Around stamp set. Some of the pages are boring, but I put everything here so you could see the whole album.

Ribbon is from our nametags. The pin in the middle was given to us, and I took the back off and glue-dotted it on.

Stamped stars as background.

The only lumpy thing in the book - my nametag.

Huge banner hung to welcome us - convention was at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando.

The night before everything started us newbies had an orientation - complete with cute furry purple tiara!

I had three awesome room-mates!

It's dark, but in these pics are the goodies our unit leader, Adeline, gave us. She's now my upline because Adriane moved :(

Anita Renfroe is freakin' hilarious! We were crying we laughed so hard!

Can't remember his name, but this guy is a great magician who performed for us Friday night.

We each chose a button featuring a word that represented us. I chose "Happy" because I had just quit a bad job and was really happy.

I stamped the background - something I hadn't done before this book! See the pic on the bottom? Those are the 15 stamp sets I WON!

Top is part of our goodie bags, and the bottom is a cool project we did.

Love how the title of this turned out! I stamped "agenda" in Bamboo twice and then in Black. The next several pages are boring, but if you want to see how I used the program scroll through them.

My Scrap Room

****1/16/10 - sorry, had to remove the album from Flickr since I'm only allowed 200 pics! If you want to see the pics that were here, comment and I'll do a new post with them****

Finally, the scrap room is done (again lol). Take a look. Anyone want to come play? Here's a link to the pics w/ descriptions, or you can view the slideshow below.

Fun-Packed Day

I had a great day today (except the part about waking up before 9)!

Jill came to get me about 9:30, took me to have something faxed at AAA for free (did you know members can fax for free?), then we went to our local IKEA! It's been open for a couple months and this was our first visit. How we restrained ourselves 'til now I have no idea. She'd never been to one, but I grew up going to the one at Potomac Mills outlet mall in Virginia. I swear, I was a neglected child! I never had any of the cool stuff in my room that IKEA sells! I'm scarred for life!

Anyhoo, we started with breakfast - nice and cheap, and yummy! The store doesn't open until 11am. How weird is that? Maybe the head honchos aren't morning people either :)

We ended with lunch - Jill had Swedish meatballs and I had the spaghetti (not real impressed with their red sauce). And in between, we walked 7500 steps according to my phone (has a pedometer) and spend 4 hours total there!

I managed to spend only $50; got a rug for my scrap room for $17.99 since the one in here is gross with black dog hair. And I bought a $1.99 plant to kill! My bamboo that I got at the Orlando store a couple years ago is alive still though, so maybe there's hope!

I was home for a bit, then drove to meet Charlotte for dinner at Cracker Barrel. We sat and talked for a few hours, and by the time we were done the evening had cooled off, so I drove home with the convertible top down.

Why do I feel like I need to justify "top down" by adding "convertible" to it?

I saw some of those PSA signs that remind people to buckle up and lock their doors. My doors were locked, but I'm thinking that probably wouldn't protect me if someone wanted to steal my car.

Tomorrow is my nephew's 2nd birthday. Do I need to call him to wish him a Happy Birthday? Does he know - or care - what day it is? My sister (his mom) and the family are in Orlando this week. If you take a 2-year-old to Disney for their birthday this year, since they already get in free, what do they get?

I think all this activity has worn out my brain, can you tell lol?
