Scrapbook Treasure Hunt 2008 Mini Book

The Scrapbook Treasure Hunt 2008 Mini Book was easy to do, since I used mostly the make-and-takes from each store.

We got a 6x6 SEI Preservation album in our totebags, and I covered it with the custom paper we got and the QK pirate ship diecut. I will add ribbon to the spine later, and need to ModPodge the cover for protection.

I used the make-and-take from The Happy Scrapper for the title page, adding stickers for the Hunt title and the date.

Journaling. Pirate ship is a transparancy.

Pics from a couple of the stores' displays.
Receipts and business cards were tucked into pockets on the Ruban Rouge make-and-take layout.

The next few pages are make-and-takes, featuring pics of me and either Jill or Becky posing in the stores' photo ops.

Several of the stores' displays on the make-and-take (altered lol) from Scrapbooking With Love.
A 2x2 pic of each stores' sign, in the order we hit them. Thanks to Teri for the caption idea: "Pillaged and Plundered and Took Me Loot Home". It's perfect!

The next several pages feature the tags we got from each store. I used a lot of Rusty Pickle's Pirate Princess line in this book.

Flyer about the hunt. It was on a totally non-matching bright red and didn't copy too well, but you get the idea.

Success! Pic of me with my completed Passport at Violette's. Diecut is Cuttlebug Kids. Like the pink bandana?Anyone want to join me next year?

Scrapbook Treasure Hunt 2007 Mini Book

I've been a busy beaver this week! I did three mini books! The first is the Tampa Bay Scrapbook Treasure Hunt 2007 book:

Front cover decorated using custom papers and stickers made just for the event. I'll be adding ribbons to the spine later.

Inside front cover has a few of the custom stickers. I used an SEI preservation album, 8.5x5.5.

Ad for the Treasure Hunt along with the tag for our beads that we were given in our totebags.

My journaling about the Hunt, including a list of stores I hit in order. The word stickers are part of the custom event stickers I bought.

Scrap Happy's page. Each page has a pic or two, the tag we got at the store if we got one, a business card or other ID, and the amount I spent at that store.

Scrapbooking in Paradise got two pages.

Left page is Wilde-Ideas and right page is Paper Memories. Coins are from Gasparilla beads I caught.

Left side is The Paper Playhouse. Right side is The Scrapbook Shoppe, which I really need to get a picture of!

Left page is Scraporium and right page is Scrapbooking With Love.

Left page is Scraptopia and right page is Ruban Rouge.

Two pages for Violette's. Bottle cap is from a beer probably. The blue paper is from water bottles the store gave out!

Left page is The Happy Scrapper, and was done using their adorable make-and-take. Right page is K2 and has those Gasparilla coin beads again.

Whim-So-Doodle needed two pages also. It was where we started the hunt.

Final page showing our completed Passports at K2! On inside of back cover, I attached more info on the Hunt and a photo copy of my Passport. Underneath are more of the custom stickers.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Mail!!!!

I got happy mail today! My friend Barb in the panhandle of Florida made me this gorgeous bracelet! She only learned how to do this style of beading less than two weeks ago - I'd say she's already a pro! The bracelet matches most of my closet, and even looks good with the pink top I'm wearing today (doesn't go too good with the navy bleach-stained yoga pants though lol). Thanks Barb!!!!! {{{{HUGS}}}}

Next month we're going to...

I'm looking forward to it. We are using my Hilton Honors points for a free hotel nearby, and will probably hit a museum or two while we're in the area. Rob and I love tasting new beers! We got the VIP tickets which will let us in early and allow us to go to some seminars about beer. Yes, we are Beer Geeks. But we love it!

I Cooked!

I know, you're glad you were sitting down before you read this! Really, I did!

Last week I made a Mexican concoction that turned out pretty good, we had it with tortillas like burritos.

Sunday I made Tunafish Casserole. Used mom's recipe but altered a bit.

Last night I made Meatloaf. No recipe, I used whatever I grabbed! Thank goodness it turned out great (Rob said so!) since you can't taste-test meatloaf until it's done and too late!

This afternoon I have a pot of homemade spaghetti sauce simmering. No recipe again, and not from a jar! I did use a jar sauce as my base, but added lots of stuff to it! So far it's pretty good. I'll make the noodles later, and Rob's picking up bread that we'll dip into olive oil and spices like at Carraba's.

See, it does happen every once in awhile! :)

I made jewelry!

Thanks to Barb T. who told me I needed to do something with all the beads I bought at Glass Onion Studios in Wisconsin on Sunday, I made several things!

Here is a brown and white and green bracelet to match all the green tops I own.

A pair of earrings that are way cooler in real life than they look here. They are purply/black/blue.

A coppery/orangy/brownish sparkly bracelet to wear with all my orange and brown. The excess beads will eventually be earrings once I buy gold earring hooks and head pins.

I made another bracelet/earrings set but can't post because the recipient might see them!

Thyroid Update

I haven't posted a pic in awhile, so I'm doing it now - three months after surgery. Dr. S. did an awesome job of stapling me up!

I went to see Dr. H., my endocrinologist, yesterday. He was kinda rude and said that he "told" me I should have gotten the whole thing out. I mentioned that to Dr. S. who said it wasn't necessary. Dr. H. seems to think I'll end up having the rest out sooner or later. Ugg!

Meanwhile, my friend Christy's MIL had surgery today to remove her thyroid due to cancer - but she'll be cured with the procedure!

Christmas Cards

Here are the latest projects I made at Violette's Stamp Club class. We made a gift card holder (the gift card slides underneath the red mat, where the notch is),
a gift tag (the other side is stamped as well), and a small card (green is background and white card opens up to reveal a sentiment).

Enjoy!

The Difference Between Men & Women

Besides the obvious that is lol ;)

In our shower, I counted 15 products that I use (not all at once, I switch off lol), 2 razors, 2 foot scrubber thingies, a face cloth, another cloth for my body wash, and one of those gloves. There's also the conditioner I share with Rob.

How many things does Rob have? TWO. Soap and shampoo. And the conditioner he shares with me. That's it.

Sometimes it sucks to be a chick! (Although we do smell better lol).

Virtual Garage Sale

In case you didn't know, I have a TON of scrapping stuff for sale - you can see it all here. I'm willing to ship internationally and charge actual shipping costs. I prefer PayPal (instant transfer or e-check) but will take money orders, checks (I wait a week for them to clear), or for purchases over $50 will take PayPal/ProPay credit card payments.

Happy shopping!

Bundle of Energy!

I got to see my nephew Brayden this past weekend! He's almost 15 months old and is just a bundle of energy! He's so cute!
