I am SUCH a geek!

I'm having fun today! I not only added a form that will allow you to subscribe to my blog, but if you want to contact me privately instead of leaving a comment for the world to see, you can now do that too! It's been fun trying to create these forms and manipulate the HTML to get it to do what I want. Woohoo!

Feel free to test out the new features!

I have ordered from ACP before and been happy with their charms. SUPER selection and fun to use.

So see, I'm actually using the product that I'm advertising lol. Notice I haven't said a lot about my new pots...
Jenn

PS - I actually have used my new pots that I earned from my Pampered Chef party and LOVE them! :)

In the mood for change...

I changed the layout of my blog, what do you think? I think the green is calmer than the pink.

I had a productive weekend in my scraproom, updated my stamp catalog (book of images of all my stamps) and went through all my quotes/words that needed to be filed. I also did tons of laundry, helped Rob flip the mattress, and COOKED!

Yes, I, Jenn, actually made dinner on Sunday night, and it even involved 2 pots and one toaster oven at the same time. And I had to saute, without even knowing what that means! It turned out yummy, although I can't entirely take the credit - it was linguini and clam sauce from Dinner Done.

Malley, our bigger/older dog, is limping around today for some reason. When we check her leg, nothing seems wrong and she's not acting like she's in pain. Can dogs sleep wrong like humans can, and wake up limping?

20 Scrapping Things About Me

I saw these questions on Lori's blog, and figured I'd answer them since they are actually about scrapping. If you answer them too, please comment and link to your blog so I can see how you scrap!
1.) Scrap standing up or sitting down? Sitting down, unless I'm trying to line something up and need to see the whole page from above.
2.) Scrap with Music on or off? Usually off, but sometimes I'll have my ipod playing
3.) Scrap with a movie going? No
4.) What do you drink while scrapping? sweet tea!
5.) Favorite scrapbook paper brand? Club Scrap, Best Creations (although I'm not sure I could ever actually use any BC papers lol), and the DCWV stacks.
6.) How long have you scrapbooked? almost 7 years
7.) Favorite brand of scissors? EK Honey Bees - they are teflon-coated and have a sharp tip, awesome!
8.) Do you stop scrapping when hubby gets home from work? Dh is home before me, but generally I don't stop scrapping for him unless I want him to take me to dinner lol
9.) Favorite tool? Basic Grey's Precision File Set
10.) Tool most used? Tonic guillotine trimmer
11.) Do you print your own pictures? sometimes
12.) Favorite Scrapbooking Magazine? Simple Scrapbooks
13.) How many sheets of pink cardstock do you own? I purged a ton of cardstock recently. But I still have about an inch of 12x12 and over an inch of 8x11.
14.) Do you buy your printed paper in 1's 2's or 3's? yes lol. I used to only buy in 2s, but now I'll often only buy 1 of each style.
15.) When's the last time you got rid or supplies that you don't use? my scraproom has a revolving door with things I buy and then get rid of!
16.) What was the last thing you scrapped? My trip to Ikea! Not overly happy with the layout, but it's done!
17.) Are you a messy scrapper? No, I clean up after each layout!
18.) Do you own a personal die cutter? If you do what brand? Yes, CraftRobo and Cuttlebug. No comments from the peanut gallery.
19.) Brads or eyelets which would you rather use? brads
20.) What 1 item are you most addicted to? ribbon

Surgery Date

I have a date for my surgery finally - Thursday, June 12. EARLY. What time does my surgeon go to bed at night? Will he be awake enough to operate? At least I'll be sleeping during it lol. But still. I have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to get there by 5:15 for 7am surgery. That's just WRONG!

Rob will be out of school by then so will be home to take care of me. He's so thrilled lol ;)

Can you tell I'm feeling a little less stressed now that I know when I'm having my throat slashed? Maybe I'll be able to sleep tonight. Off to bed now - night!

Card Share

Spoiler Alert - if you are in the Club Scrap OCAM swaps and haven't gotten your cards for May yet, don't peek!

I ordered from All That Scraps, and got this darling CC Designs Bitty Bug stamp, and the Core-dinations cardstock. Not as happy with the cardstock as I thought I'd be, but oh well, even not distressed the colors are pretty. Used Stickles and watercolor pencils to add color to the stamp. I like the green and yellow one best, which do you prefer?

Thanks for looking!

Thyroid Surgery Update & Good Thoughts Needed

I saw my Surgeon this afternoon. He's not going to take the whole thyroid out, just most of it, unless the Pathologist determines there's cancer. I found out where my incision will be, and that I should recover pretty quickly (yay!). But did I really need to know that once he makes the incision he has to move muscle aside to get to my thyroid, and that there's a wee chance my vocal cord could be hit and make me hoarse for a bit? And my surgery can be anytime - 7am to 4pm. I'm hoping if it's too early they just wheel me in and let me go back to sleep lol! But later, and not being able to eat past midnight? A girl's gotta eat!

I shouldn't be so shallow - it could be lots worse and I'm thankful that even if it is cancer, I'll be cured. My friend who is the same age as me is going in for a double mastectomy and reconstruction later this week to hopefully eliminate her breast cancer. So please keep her in your thoughts.

Tire go flat?

Nope, I was driving along and the other three just swelled right up on me! (Name that quote lol).
I had a blowout Thursday morning on the way to work. I was able to pull over safely and call AAA to come put my spare on. My tire was completely shredded, my bumper was knocked loose, the mudflap is gone, my bumper has a huge crack in it, and the parking light is gone. Somehow my wheel is fine though lol.

I spent Thursday night at Sam's Club (after dinner with Rob at Chili's) waiting for my new tires to be put on - I knew I needed tires, but it became much more important that day, since I had no spare!

Crazy, huh?

Status of my "One Word"

If you recall, in January I took a cue from Ali Edwards and picked one word that would be my theme for the year. I chose CALM.

I have repated that word to myself many times over the past few months, and many times, it works. But right now it's hard.

I found out a couple weeks ago after a biopsy that I have to have most if not all of my thyroid removed. I have never been in the hospital (except to be born!), never under anesthesia, so I'm very scared. My doctor said that I should feel a lot better after this is done, so I'm trying to remember that while I'm laying awake and night and my stomach's in knots. Fortunately, even if the final result is cancer, it's pretty much cured with the removal of my thyroid and I shouldn't have to worry about it again. I will have to be on medication for the rest of my life, but I would have had to anyway. My thyroid's pretty much useless, just taking up real estate and not doing what it's supposed to.

If you want to read more on hypothyroidism (what I have) and other thyroid disorders, go to http://www.thyroid.org/.

Thanks for listening.
Hugs,
Jenn

My Favorite Little Nerd

Ok, that's mean, I know - but my nephew Brayden looks too freakin' cute in his little sweater vest! And what a happy little guy - he had a ball playing with his favorite Aunt Jenn (I better be his favorite!) He's got a whopping 4 teeth now, and didn't seem concerned when I informed him that it was my finger/hand/arm that he was biting.
Pics were taken at a restaurant up in Crystal River, FL at dinner for Mother's Day. We got to spend it with my parents, sister, niece and nephew, as well as Rob's mom. Happy Mother's Day!

Some friends let me know about a great new blog/monthly e-zine called SheetLoad of Cards. I've gotten into card-making, and it's a great place to see lots of ideas. Here's a preview of the May issue. Enjoy!
